The Orgelakademie Stade
was founded as the Centre for the Promotion of Organ Culture in the Elbe-Weser Region in 2002.
The Elbe-Weser triangle, located in the former duchies of Bremen and Verden, is home to over 500 years of organ building history. This region boasts more than 80 remarkable monument organs, including those crafted by the renowned organ builder Arp Schnitger. As a result, it is one of the richest and most diverse landscapes for organ music in the world, continuing to influence the musical life of the area today.
The objective of the Orgelakademie Stade is to make this cultural inheritance accessible to people of all ages. In particular its aim is to bring children and adolescents closer to the world of organs and organ music.
